Starting the New Year off :)

I noticed in my last couple posts ok well most of them, I have a picture for almost everything lol please excuse the need for a visual ha, Im in Kindergarten mode! ;) Started the New Year off with fun games at my sister in laws place, my first time playing scrabble can u believe it? lol I LOVE that game, I am secretly competitive (at least I hope Im not obvious lol)so I had no mercy ;) My husband is the oldest of his moms kids, not his dads but we dont see them too much... so we try to pull them together for some FAM time, we all shared some memories and new goals and how we can accomplish them. It was cool spending time with them as we are trying to have better relationships in general and I dont know a better way to start than within :) we then had a eating after church with my siblings....
BACKTRACKING
Christmas was a lot! my kids are always thought of awww..... Christmas Eve we had a talent show and all the grandkids did a lil sumthin sumthin, I read about one of the prophets doing one with their family so I thought it would be a fun and entertaining tradition to start... we finally got to talk to Sister Ika in Guam since they are a day ahead! she listened to the rules and only spoke for an hour lol still a nerd ha ha but better yet an obedient loving servant :) shes so cute and the only complaint she had was how itchy the mosquitoes make her... actin like we dont got those here!? ha ha shes doing wonderful and I know the Lords work is being shared graciously. My sister brought us food from her ugly sweater party that her inlaws had and I hade a bad allergic reaction from the crab wontons LOL so ugly I swear I ate 20 and woke up swollen but I still went to church because it was my 1st cousin Nancy Otukolo's mission farewell and she is going to New York! awesome :) she shared her beautiful testimony and I cried because I admire her faith to become more Christlike... I really liked her statistics she shared about NY, way to be prepared sister!
We had a eating with my Mothers fam, at her sisters house where my grandma Kalo stays. I talked to her while she ate and I entertained her with my sucky Tongan but shes the only one that I can practice on ha ha shes funny and is in such good health, well shes finally bedridden but shes 88! shes outlived 2 kids and her husband :)
We then ended the night at my sister in laws and they bombarded my kids with presents! I had to put some away for their bdays lol

I was gonna send a Holiday card that listed the top five of our 2011... but right when I was gona check out I saw the price was 2.50 a card haa haa so Im gonna blog it :)

1- Athena started Kindergarten and loves it

2- Achilles hits the terrible 2's and kills us but is very entertaining with his dance moves :)

3- Sister Katie Ika got her mission call to Micronesia Guam and is adjusting quite well

4- Last year in student housing! Made so many amazing friends and loved all that came with it such as the free workouts and the free Institute classes

5- 5 years of marriage down.. the growth has been enlightning with a better knowledge of the bigger picture :)

October is over but I wanted to bring up all the birthdays in my family that fall in October.. what a busy month, most importantly my Grandma Kalolaine Vaka Mapa... she turned 88 this year and is still kickin :) something I admire about her is her dedication to the Gospel... she has served so many missions and has been by herself for awhile since my grandfather passed away about 21 years ago. She was very good at geneology work and always showed us her map of our family history going all the way back to adam and eve... pretty cool :)

This month has been an emotional roller coaster aaaaaaaahhh dont like those rides too much.. reminds me of how human I am lol I have this picture of how I want things to be then the practice part comes into play and I wonder if I should short change my goals... being at home with my kids gives me so much time to think, changes this month have been really hard and we have been trying to get over the slump. I cant seem to keep the sad stuff outta my thoughts but we are working on it everyday... I guess I jus needed to vent it out. You know what they say when ur feeling down, count ur blessings :)

Things I am grateful for

A hard working ambitious husband who has come so far with me in spiritual and physical strengthening, Im glad hes here with me on this journey

A beautiful obedient daughter who pushes herself to learn more and more! I have to check on her every night to make sure she sleeping and not reading or doing her math work book lol Kindergarten is far more intense then from what I remember lol

A naughty but oh so cute lil boy whos my bff cuz he literally wont leave me alone ;)

I am the Faith in God leader in my Liberty 3rd ward and enjoy it so much, these girls are so fun and push me to be consistent and alive lol

My testimony of the plan of salvation, I find comfort in knowing I can be with my family for eternity and that all that we do here on earth is priming us for the day when our time on earth is done :)

A Little Heaven on Earth

a popular proverb says “Thee lift me and I’ll lift thee, and we will ascend together.”

I got this from an article in the Ensign... Everyday is a work in progress to achieve a little heaven on earth, with busy busy schedules and a funeral on top of it this week my husband and I have counted our blessings and have pulled more than usual towards spiritual guidance for ourselves and others in our humble abode ;) A scenario this article puts into my mind is that having a Celestial Marriage is like climbing a mountain and binding yourself with your eternal companion as you climb together and when you have children you tie them along with you for the ride, it puts into perspective our responsibility to live a consecrated life not only to bless our posterity but to make our journeys here on earth together a harmonious(awesome) one! :) I love my life. May my sweet loving sister in law Janelle Lula Tongaonevai rest in peace and send some love and comfort to her eternal love while he gathers his faith in the lord to endure his stay here on earth, till they meet again! our heavenly father has an eternal plan we can't understand many times but I hope hes comforted in knowing he took her to the temple and that their marriage is eternal... ofa lahi atu

My sister has been gone for a couple weeks now and has finally set off to Guam she is located in Saipan right now which is about a 45 min airplane ride from Guam and learning Chuukese :) shes excited to get to work! we miss her so much but theres something about the gospel thats so beautiful that I cant help but be so proud and happy :)

Athena is playing the piano now, we found an awesome music student that lives in the building next door :) and she starts Kindergarten this Fall.

My brother in law that just moved in with us will be a Jr this year and playing Football for Highland :)

as you can see we took new family pictures!!! Our good family friend Latu flew in from California on the weekend we had Katies farewell and we all met up downtown at the Temple :)

My little sister has been called to Micronesia Guam, seems like it all happened so fast because as soon as she left I have really missed her. I am so happy that she has chosen to give the lord 18 months to help spread the gospel! I know she has a strong testimony and has gone through much adversity to get to the mission field, Im so glad she has made good decisions in her life and pray this will help bless my brothers to come back to church strong. I am so grateful for the restoration of the gospel and the atonement that ensures our salvation if we live according to our savior... I am so blessed to have parents that never took breaks on gospel teachings in our home. Ofa Atu Sister Ika

My daughter jus turned the big 5 and is so ready for kindergarten, please excuse the bragging because this is for her to read one day ;) she graduated from upstart which is a software that was provided by the Waterford Institute and was free :) she learned math reading and science and has already started to attempt reading books. She practices soccer and softball with her dad a couple times a week and loves to workout hard with him and Hunter, she loves to learn her articles of faith and just passed number 6 off. She loves to work on crossword puzzles and draw pictures to hang on her wall. She always wants me to buy her new math workbooks and cross word puzzles because she goes through them really fast. This year we went swimming as a little family and watched movies after, she asked for a plant and gummy bears lol.. Her dads sisters brought her tons of gummy bears and chocolate, uncle william aka fish bate hooked her up with some money, birthday song from auntie Ana and Adrian in Oakland, and many texts and birthday shout outs via text and facebook :)
She will start Kindergarten this fall and totally wants to take the bus to school... I told her I can come eat breakfast with her before school and she told me that its pretty much for the kids so I shouldnt lol wow life goes so fast ya know?

I'm a day late... fathers are such a blessing to have, I think about how much harder it wouldve been to not have my father around because my husband lost his dad at the young age of 3... hes naturally a fatherly figure to my kids and sometimes a mother lol he puts so much love and effort into his kids that he makes being a family a lot easier. Im sure his father is so proud! My Dad is tight because he conquers everything in his path and more, he picks up new talents by the week lol and sharpens them so that he can become an expert.. he shares his talents and loves to help, after all he is a teacher :)

I laugh when my husband says it the best day of my life ha ha but it really has been one of the many happy times. 6 yrs ago we got married but 5 years ago we were sealed, Im so grateful but especially humbled to see where we have come in this time together. Love is something that everyone seems to have different definitions of. Bell Hooks writes in her book about how SELF LOVE is the foundation of our loving practice, without it our other efforts to love fail. Giving ourselves love we provide our inner being with the opportunity to have the unconditional love we may have always longed to receive from someone else. This is a nice awakining that has seem to go wrong in modern society, to fall victim is to never experience true happiness and through gospel principals and knowing my family can be forever through righteous actions, I have come to Love with faith because I have felt and still feel my saviors love and therefore have been tremendously blessed with my Love. Bell Hooks inspired me to use Love more as an action than a saying, one of her quotes that inspires me and makes me smile

March is a month that has so many birthdays of people I love and adore. My husb was born on St. Pattys day/.. I think its pretty fun for me and the kids because we do things green.. wish I took pictures of the past cakes ive made.. they looked better than they tasted lol this year I thought I would try this rainbow cake.. I hope I can make it look this beautiful and if it doesnt we can jus use this pix ha ha

My cousin Lita has her big 21 this year and shes also a st patricks day baby :) we are having a girls cousins dinner at Tuscanos and showering her with gift cards from her fav stores :) shes a sweet girl and has gone thru a lot with losing her mom and brother not too long ago... she reminds me of her mom, gorgeous :)

I know the Holiday Season is in full blast when the annoying traffic is filled with rude shoppers...ha ha I dont really like to shop... sorry do I sound like the Grinch? well green is one of my fav colors but noooo I promise I love Christmas actually all holidays but every year I try really hard to focus on the real meaning of Christmas... boy is it hard when Im telling people my lists of gifts I would like to receive :( bad ha...

This year we gave to a family... it was fun and what I really wanted to get out of Christmas... I always try to remember that when life gets confusing or hard to bear not only praying but serving others has brought me to rethink my priorities and maybe helps me out for the times when I'm all about me lol

Ballet has come to an end this week.... it was really cool to see in the end how organized the ballet teacher(Miss Kim) conducted a class for little girls, she has fun yet productive ways of teaching the beginning ballet positions.(I know this because Im a professional ballet dancer ha ha) I was surprised of how structured the class was being that it consisted of 3-4 year olds, but I liked it. Miss Kim is a really good teacher and makes class fun while holding a consistent schedule that helps them become comfortable, pretty cool :) I wondered what age was appropriate to start kids in organized activities but went ahead with it without much thought.. glad I did because she really enjoys it, earlier she played soccer and had a lot of fun ssssooooo here goes :)
A couple of the kids would run to their parents because they were so excited, and my daughter would give me a scowl if I was not on top of the picture taking ha ha

On our way home from the the dr's office she randomly told me she loves the bishops office and wanted to make sure our new bishop knows how to spell her name? I said dont worry we can show him next time we see him.. then I asked why she loved it so much, it seemed cluttered to me lol she said it was quiet and nice unlike primary... and I asked how that made her feel... she said Happy :) ok no mute button today I guess ha ha

The day finally came when Utah played BYU... I watched in amazement how great BYU played lol and all the crap talkers made me want Utah to win sooo bad... but I know the "big talk" only makes things get out of hand especially coming from a family of Cougars! lol so I just let the game be played... wow was I happy when we won and got a lil excited telling people how moded they are lol yes IM SORRY.. why? cuz its just a game :) such a close and FUN game to watch... 17-16 BYU, it came down to the last play and I felt like it was over for the Utes.. then Burton ran in and blocked the kick!! couldn't believe my eyes! where was he the past two games when we were getting whooped ha ha Its always a great game and of course I always need to remember to be a humble WINNER lol til next year ;)

My baby finally got to come home :) we are so blessed and very grateful for the priesthood. My dad came with my grandpa and with my husband gave my lil one a blessing... I felt my faith being tested and it was crazy to sort out my emotions and to stay on track on what to do in such a situation.. the blessing and many prayers I did and I know so many loving family and friends offered, gave me peace in dealing and prioritizing my life.
Im grateful for my testimony because it gave me strength in knowing that I can handle whatever situation my Heavenly Father gives me. Life can take so many crazy turns but I know that when I stay true and strong to my faith in Jesus Christ I will be blessed in knowing I am not alone and loving everything and everyone in my life here on earth! :)

Saturday morning I woke up to a startling scream, then silence... I picked my baby up to bring him into the light and saw his eyes rolling back and his hands in tight fists...... my heart dropped and my tears poured... tried to gain composure to call 911.. the operator could barely hear me because I always let my baby chew on the phone.. ugh... but I knew he was having a seizure.. Ive seen it before in friends and family, never thought I would witness it with my baby boy.. :( the paramedics got to us when it was over and he was acting like a regular little boy but with a fever and they told me that was normal for young babies to get seizures when they have high temps. I took him in myself to get checked out instead of a ride on the ambulance.. right after they said he would be fine he had another seizure, I couldnt stop crying because the dr got nervous.. then anther while my mom was there and each one lasted longer and my heart hurt more and more, My heart ached for my babys smile while he layed there staring up at nothing while the seizure took over his chubby yet tough little body. No response from him for awhile no calling out to be carried or hugged.... all I could do was pray.......

This year my little brother is gettin some play time down at SUU :) and my brother in law is playing here at the U! its so fun to go and watch :) I was just down in San Jose to see them lose a close one to SJC ugh... but I loved getting to hang with all my cousins (lavells number one fans :)) and good friends I havent seen in awhile! Im pretty sure Ill watch a U game soon but Im booked for the game against TCU, should be a good one. We are back in school mode and Im hopin and prayin it will go by fast...

This summer I had the chance to hang out with so many of my close cousins that came out for my sisters wedding! On our trip to Southern California, I got to meet many of my husbands very loving family that helped raise him throughout his childhood :)Had a IKA and Sika family reunion and Ha'akame village reunion that was never ending fun. My brother in law got married and again we saw so much family that we hadnt seen since our wedding (5yrs ago), went out to vegas for my cousin selus bridal shower :) made a quick trip to the bay area to kick it with my sisters that I grew up with *tears*... soo much going on that once I have a free weekend, I dont know what to do with myself ha ha maybe I should try cleaning lol

California was sooooooo fun maybe because we had so much time together as a family...

Ive thought about keeping my family at two kids, just feels right so far :)

I luv watching biggest loser..........................
mind you its been a whole year since Ive given this body a "real" sweat, but I made it.
I stretched and could feel the burn, from stretching? yes from stretching so I noticed I was stretching a little
longer than usual but I was in the zone telling myself.... "its ok if ur outta breath before you hop
on the treadmill", it will get easier... so I pushed it and I could just think of all the excuses to just stop
and continue another day, but I didnt I kept pushing through, thru my sweats going up my butt and through
my face burning and my knees screaming for support...... ugh Ill never laugh at people that have merfs
at the gym again! I felt good at first and was feeling "real" as I say about people with too
much confidence, but then it started to hurt :( but I said to myself "no ones staring at how funny ur running or that ur extremely sweating after the 10 min warm up".......................

Instead of being nosy and trying to read everyones updates I decided to help my days pass by typing my life away....

I always wonder how much is too much information when writing blogs because I can say that some blogs I read are so crazy but great reads I might add lol

Im 38 weeks and 4 days prego, feeling very anxious to give birth:) as crazy as it sounds I dream of getting real labor contractions lol I have to wait it out as long as possible and try to not get get induced so I have a feeling this is gonna be a long overdue child...

A major uncomfort for me is my water breaking when Im in public... wow that would be humiliating ha

DST used to be one of my favorite times of the year because I get an extra hour of sleep, this year it seems to make my days slower and more uncomfortable..

I feel like school is never ending for my lil family but I know I need to get as much done now so that I can be ready for my kids future..

I know I need to delete my FB and BEBO cuz Im on the internet way too much, but how will I be updated on the Tongan community without gossiping ha ha

Im so glad I wont be pregnant during christmas and Thanksgiving so I can enjoy it

Ive come to realize I cant make every function! but I know I should really try...

sad how much good food can really brighten my day :)

ok I can barely get my butt up to do things but hey I can blog lol I can't wait to have my baby as everyone has had their baby already!! congrats to Kristen :) she jus had her precious lil boy MICAH last week Thursday, my neighbor downstairs like 3 weeks ago lol had a little girl, my cousin Leafa had her first baby and its a girl! that I still havent seen boo Im sooo flaky when Im prego, my body is out for the whole 9 months. My sister had her 5th baby OTTO FRITZ in Sept and its her 2nd boy so they are excited to get a change of pace from the awesome girls ha ha.. My cousin Pulus wife DI had their lil girl Selini... love the name even tho its after monkeys ha ha jk but that too was months ago? lol my cousin Keiti and Sione had their 4th child and 2nd lil girl, Kesaia... so whens it my turn? ugh cannot wait to see my Athena enjoy Halloween she loves seeing all the decorations

Im almost 30 weeks and am so glad time is tickin' I've taken a break this semester so Im soooo bored and am desperate need of some good books... I just read "Falling Leaves" not sure of the authors name but its a story that entails her own childhood as an unwanted daughter in a Chinese family. This book was sooo depressing but a harsh reality of how life can be in different situations. Im so grateful for all that I have and all that I can do and am able to achieve with much credit due to the tremendous support I have from my parents and my husband :)

My oldest starts pre-school next week, I along with other parents in my apt court will take turns teaching so I only have to teach once a month... we are going to have field trips and snacks... Im excited to get my daughter involved in something this fall!!! yay

We watched the rugby tournament during the Tongan festival and the most entertaining had to be Peni Malohifoou on the MIC ha ha hands down

my husband played for the West Valley Lions! yay they took 4th place and there were 4 teams in the tournament ha ha jus kiddin there were like 7.... of course the Provo Steelers took it again...

Yay things are starting to slow down, Im 25 weeks pregnant and it feels like such a long time to be pregnant... we are having our first boy! its a lil suprising to me because I was so ready for another girl.. sad but my husband is very excited and has been baby hungry anyways, its like when your around polys having one feels like we are missing out and then when we are around palangis having one seems just right ha ha... my daughter Athena is amazing and I feel so blessed to have her around helping me, ha ha yea shes a helper at the early age of three... Im totally grossed out by the birthing process still lol maybe because I still get sick and throw up once or twice a day... we will see when the day comes, but I feel so ready to get him out...

I get a break this semester so it will be nice to not have to worry about classes while having contractions! I can't wait for winter I love the holidays

I'm so glad to get this semester over with! I'm about 14 weeks pregnant and the meanest ugliest pregnant person lol( thats y there are no recent pictures of me) I been so stressed with school and family life and have the worst morning sickness that I could barely get ready.. so I am so glad to say the longest month in my life is over! Sorry to all the people I've cussed out and threw things at.. umm well we still got 6 more months of that.. anyways I would never reccomend school and pregnancy, well jus for the suckers like me that have morning sickness all 9 months ugh! I know so many women that have done it with flying colors they ROCK..

Anyways I love everyones blog and actually read them instead of blogging.. ugh guilty yes

Last week was not a good week for me, I went to work once and made it to class once! awwww then my good friend Angeles picked up some Olive Garden for me and it soooo made my day, I have been craving it for awhile and yes I am going to anounce in the middle of my blog that I'm pregnant! It was soo nice to hang out with her and her beautiful lil girl, I dont think Riana liked my place... it's ok I dont really care for it either... It's so refreshing to realize how long you've known someone and you are still that close with them to where you still call and get together and pick each other up when their down or just to catch up. Angeles has been an amazing person that I have grown to love, cuz yes she was annoying at first... ha ha totally kidding! I've known her since our youth days and have always admired her righteous ways, I love the way this girl never changes and always stand for what she believes in.... thanks again for the support ang and you need more babies.. ha ha one day I'll get up to visit you! love ya sis... heres to FRIENDS!

Ok I am so addicted to the Biggest Loser show! ok well all reality T.V. pulls me.... but I got this show all lined up ;) I am so glad Filipe stuck up and said something, Jillian really didnt help the guy! that trainer can be such a meanie... I mean she was soo messed up when she told Laura she couldn't be helped. Wow that was not cool, I'm wondering how Jillian was thinking that would help her team win? geeze. I was so happy that Mike lost more than enough but like all reality shows theres a twist! good thing the black team has Tara.. what a fighter;) Way to represent Sione and Filipe! they are such hard workers and awesome examples to the future generations..

The summer has ended for us since school is back in action! My husband just had his 1st family reunion for the Tauteoli side.. his mothers side. It was so fun for our little family sometimes stressful due to Ulysses and his last minute inquiries.. maybe I'm just a control freak but I cant stand when we have to do things last minute.. but oh well it turned out really good since no one got cussed out.. ha ha. This past reunion made me remember all the reunions i use to go to when I was younger, my dads family always has reunions! I just got all non social and quit.. ha ha but its good to be back into family functions because I want my daughter to know her family. This is my 1st blog so forgive me if its lame..
